Golf AND Tennis Association

The Golf and Tennis Association was set up by parents to promote golf and tennis in the school. Membership is open to all families, past and present.  The Association organises golf and tennis lessons for both children and parents, and family social events.  People can join the Association at any time during the school year, however membership runs from September to September and needs to be renewed each year.

Membership entitles you to:

• use the golf course and tennis courts (see note below for more detail)

• participate in golf and tennis lessons (at a further cost)

• two free social evenings a year

You may have either Family Membership (open to all families with children at Hall Grove and families of past pupils - £70) or Individual Membership (open to all children in Years 7 and 8 and past pupils - £35).  The golf and tennis lessons are charged at cost.  All surplus funds are returned to the school to support on-going projects.

Tennis

There are two coaching sessions for adults who play tennis; improvers on Wednesday mornings from 09:00-10:00 and beginners on Thursday mornings, 09:00-10:00.  No booking is required as these lessons are run on a turn up, pay and play basis. 

Children’s lessons are on Saturday mornings.  All standards are welcome as the children are grouped by age/ability. Please contact Leslie Gathy for further information, or to book lessons please complete the enclosed lesson booking form.

Members may use the tennis courts on Mondays to Saturdays year round, including the holidays, providing they are not being used for a school club or activity. The tennis courts can also be used on Sunday mornings term time only up until 12.00 noon. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing on the tennis courts.

Golf

Group golf lessons are given by the professionals from The Berkshire Golf Club.  All standards are welcome. Adult lessons are held at the Berkshire on weekdays and need to be booked. 

Children’s golf lessons are held on Saturdays at Hall Grove.  The children are generally grouped by age. Please contact Caroline Grant for all golf lesson bookings.

Members may use the golf course on Mondays to Saturdays year round, including the holidays, providing they are not being used for a school club or activity.  The golf course may also be used on Sunday mornings, term time only, from 09:00 – 12:00.  Children in Years 7 and 8 and past pupils may use the golf course unaccompanied by an adult, but any child so doing is the responsibility of the parents and not the school.  Unaccompanied golfers must be certified by the Association.  All other children must be accompanied by an adult.  Please observe correct golf etiquette.
