Hall Grove School

Adult Netball

Netball has been growing in popularity in England in the last few years and at Hall Grove adult netball sessions run from 1930 - 2030 on Tuesday evenings during term time on the floodlit astro pitch.  We are able to continue in inclement weather through the Winter months by using the indoor facility at Collingwood Sports Centre.

We are a gathering of parents from every year group, staff and friends who enjoyed netball when we were at school and have returned to the game as we see it as a fun social way to get/keep fit. Our coach, Michelle Riddy, has been guiding and training us for the last three years and she really helps us work on our skills, spacing and understanding of the rules.  We play friendly matches on an informal basis and we also have a team playing in Surrey League matches on alternate SaturdaysWe intend to play in Charters Summer League and we also organise and play in a Charity Cup Tournament held in May in aid of 'Shining On' in memory of Declan Bennett.

Across the country, more and more like-minded women are joining up and enjoying netball, either for the first time or by reviving a lost love for the sport.  It doesn’t matter how good you are - we would love to see any newcomers.  Anyone interested is invited to come along for three weeks to see if they enjoy playing, before they commit to the membership fees that contribute towards our costs such as court hire/lighting and maintenance, equipment and umpires’ fees.
